I’ve got two kids in two different Steiner schools and have been involved with the education as a parent and professionally, as a Communications Consultant, for nearly 10 years. I don’t profess to have expert knowledge about Steiner education but I’m happy to share what I’m learning about it. It appealed to me with my children because of its deep reverential respect for each child, and for childhood itself. It teaches much more than just academic ‘head-learning’ and enables children to grow and develop into confident, rounded adults at a natural pace. 10 years on, my children continue to love school and to love what they are learning. I’m happy because they’re happy, and I anticipate they will stay in Steiner education throughout their school lives. I’m grateful for the education my children receive but I still have a lot of questions about Steiner education, which I would like to share and explore in this blog.
Dear Sarah,
I’m the recently-appointed communications officer for the Steiner Waldorf Schools Fellowship. I’ve just come across your blog, and am very impressed!
I’m particularly interested because I have been wanting to set up a parents’ blog to link to the SWSF website but it seems that you’ve got there before me!
Would you object if I make a link between your blog and the SWSF website? I’m sure it would be very helpful for prospective parents of Steiner schools to see what you’ve written.
With thanks and best wishes,
Jeremy Smith
